Earthquake Rose
On February 28, 2001, an earthquake of 6.8 magnitude located some 30 miles beneath the earth struck near Seattle, Washington. A sand tracing pendulum located at shop called Mind Over Matter, in Port Townsend, Washington produced some very interesting patterns. Some pictures were taken of the patterns that looked exactly like a rose blooming, so the shop now calls the photo, “The Earthquake Rose". On this same day, my personal life was spinning out of control so when I heard about the earthquake, I sat down and began to write this.
"Earthquake Rose"
Everyone close to me felt the magnitude of my internal earthquake, though they did not know what to say. They all ran for cover to protect themselves, as if harm would come their way.
News of the quake spread far and wide like a fire. Hearts were closed like doors. As long as they didn't have to see the damage, their lives would not be changed once more.
The eruption lasted only a few Godly minutes. The pendulum swayed forcefully to and fro. I hung onto life and my Father's hand, for in the end only he would know.
It appears now there will be some calmness before the next quake and God provided me with a reminder that he himself chose. That although the internal earthquake was total chaos, in the center of the storm, there still remains the "Rose."

Ahhhh… 🤗 Thank you for sharing my poem! So kind of you!
